About Us
The Medical Alliance of the Piedmont is an organization of physician and medical student spouses residing in Forsyth, Stokes, Davie, Surry, and Yadkin Counties. We are a component of the North Carolina Medical Society Alliance and the American Medical Association Alliance. Membership in this organization supports local, state, and national health-related projects and initiatives.
Our goal is to support health education, to volunteer in activities that meet the health needs of the community, to be advocates for the medical profession at large, to promote a positive image of the medical community, and to encourage friendship and support among the families of the medical profession.
The Medical Alliance of the Piedmont officially began in 1937 as the Forsyth County Medical Auxiliary, to promote social networking. Today it has grown to about 200 members and now includes service oriented goals and projects.
